Three Small Local Restaurants You May Not Know Of

There’s nothing like finding a go-to restaurant for your cravings. At California Palms, we are lucky to have some amazing local restaurants that you can’t find anywhere else. Here are three of our favorites!

For Sushi

If you’re craving sushi, check out Sushi 21 Express on Harbor Boulevard. They’ve got classic sushi rolls, plus fun rolls like their Santa Ana Roll (crab and tomato on a California roll) and Jose’s Roll (crab, albacore, and spicy tuna with avocado on top). Delicious!

They also serve options like poke bowls, bulgogi, shrimp and vegetable tempura, and noodles. And if your roommates or family aren’t feeling any of those options, there are chicken or pork cutlets with soup, salad, and rice to fill them up. You can order online here .

For Tacos

Another one of our favorite local restaurants is Broadway Taco ! Also on Harbor Boulevard, this restaurant opened pretty recently in March 2020.

Their menu offers everything you could want. You have your choice of meat—from chicken to pork belly to tongue! And then you can put that meat on tacos, quesadillas, tortas, and more. It’s a super affordable and delicious spot that’s great for a quick bite!

For Pizza

Who doesn’t love pizza? Okay, some people don’t love it, but Pizza D’Z on Slater Avenue in Fountain Valley has both delicious pizza and other options to satisfy any belly!

They’ve got their pizza specials, like Vegetarian, Meat Eater, and Z’s Special (with olives, onions, pepperoni, green peppers, sausage, and mushrooms). And they also have their build-you-own-pizza option, with all the topping choices you could imagine. Shrimp scampi, anyone?

If you don’t want to buy a whole pizza, you can get a giant slice! And if you’re gluten intolerant, you can get yourself a gluten-free pizza. 

If you’re not feeling pizza, there’s also pasta, roasted veggies, calzones, and sandwiches. And their weekly specials include lasagna, wings, spaghetti, chicken or eggplant parmigiana, ravioli manicotti and cannelloni, and seafood. Truly something for everyone!
